Welcome to the
22nd International
Vasculitis Workshop

Thank you for coming to the 22nd International Vasculitis Workshop and its associated events in February 2026, and for making the Workshop such a success.

This was the biggest Vasculitis Workshop yet, with 1002 registrants attending the Main Workshop, presenting a record number of 507 abstracts across the full spectrum of research in many different forms of vasculitis. Other related events were also popular, with 504 attending the Vasculitis Education Course, 160 the Community and Patient Conference, and 130 the ANCA Laboratory Testing Workshop. In all, over 1300 people attended the 4 meetings from Saturday to Wednesday from 43 countries.

We have appreciated your engagement with the Workshop. Thank you to all the presenters, speakers, chairs and leaders of mini-workshops and poster tours. Thanks are due to the members of several committees who made the Workshop week happen: specifically the Local Organising Committee, the International Scientific Advisory Committee, the Community and Patient Conference Committee and the organisers of the ANCA Laboratory Testing Workshop. In addition we'd like to thank all our sponsors, and the voluntary organisations who partnered with us. In particular, we thank the Vasculitis Foundation for bringing their expertise and enthusiasm to organising the Community and Patient Conference.

The strength of the vasculitis workshops has always come from the openness, collegiality and scientific rigour from the multidisciplinary vasculitis community members themselves. This was clearly the case in Melbourne. Thank you all for attending and for taking so much interest in these important conditions. Your ideas, presentations and participation will improve education and clinical practice, and help shape the direction of future research and collaboration in the vasculitides. We must continue to strive to improve the lives of people with vasculitis.

Thank you again for your contribution to advancing the field and for helping make the 22nd IVW in Melbourne a memorable and successful meeting.

We look forward to being able to continue to work together as an international community and to meet at future workshops, next in Istanbul in 2028 and then Montreal in 2030.

Yours sincerely,

Prof Richard Kitching, Prof Catherine Hill and Dr Vicki Quincey
